Skinny doorway, ugly pink terra cotta colour and boiler showing.
Wider doorway, magnolia (cheap and cheerful choice of decorators everywhere!), and hidden boiler. Much better
Note the horrible colour of th ceiling rose, the gothic black lamp, and the garrish colour of the coving behind it?
Now isn't that easier on the eyes? Gone is the harsh Terra Cotta, in is white gloss and magnolia, and a nice clean brass lighting fixture.
Once again don't focus on Angus, focus on the gap or recessed area in the corner
A little more obvious here that there was a 6x4 foot recessed area
Same corner....you'd never know there is a closet now behind that wall would you? I can tell you though, trying to get new coving up to match the old coving was a nightmare. Cutting and fitting coving has so far been almost as bad as tiling if you ask me. Got it in the end though!
So that's it for now...fingers crossed the living room will be finished within a day or so. We're waiting for the joiner to finish the bathroom unit then we'll finish painting and tiling it, and then we've got the hallway to paint, and of course our kitchen to finish tiling, wallpapering, putting the hood up, and painting. Plenty of work left, anyone fancy popping over to help!?
